TOPEKA'S SLASH AND BASH FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS!!!!!!

It's next weekend, JUNE 24, 25, and 26, and it's ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!!!!!!!

A lot of you may remember the last one in 2009. We got to meet and hang with Adrianne Barbeau, and Horror Club had a room party that was pretty cool.

Well, we had to skip a year because Keith Van Sickle, our benevolent and bad-ass host, had a stroke. And then another stroke. And then another stroke. But sometimes, thankfully, death is a tease, and Keith chose not to run the festival from the grave. I'm sure most of you know, there's no room to type effectively inside a coffin. Even the expensive ones. Which, by the way, is why the Ukrainian Vampire Defense Administration added "Social Networking" to the list of useful weapons to use against Vampires. I'm so happy Keith is still with us after giving us such a scare. I reckon that's his style though. :)

This year, Horror Club will be there again, along with the Kansas City Zombie walk for Hunger, and we'll be there for Director Patrick Ray's screenings, the Slash and Bash Short Film Contest, the screening of Bonnie and Clyde VS. Dracula (and Q&A with the filmmakers), and all the screenings, indoor and out!

Did we mention it's FREE? Because it's FREE. Which frees up some funds to get a room and throw a party.

Here's the when and the where...

Friday, June 24, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

We will start and end outside "The Break Room" between 9th and 10th street on Kansas Avenue, Topeka Kansas.

Participation requires a donation of FIVE non perishable food items, or a donation of five dollars (or more if you want to).

All food and monetary proceeds will benefit Topeka's "Let's Help." An organization "committed to working with individuals and families so that the cycle of poverty is broken and self-sufficiency is attained."

We'll collect your donation, mill about for a bit and go for a terrifying stroll that will likely horrify the young and fill absorbent undergarments of the old. Who knows, maybe we'll hit the capitol building and lobby for "Undead Rights."

There are rules of conduct, as I'm sure you are aware, and we'll get into that on the day, but the basics are, you're a zombie, but don't murder anybody!
